Cover Wars & a Giveaway Fire by Kristin Cashore

coverwars-1.jpg

This week we're comparing

This one is so hard. I LOVE both these covers.

The colours on the US one are fabulous but I also adore the sky and the figure of the girl on the UK one. They're both eye catching and fit well with the theme of the book.

I think the UK one just has it for me because I prefer the font but it's a very close call.

Which do you prefer?

Let me know in a comment and you could win a signed copy of Fire. I have one to giveaway.

I actually much prefer the UK cover. The US cover actually kind of makes me cringe. I really don't like it.

  10. Ooo, lots of entries so far! I'll be tweeting about this. And I follow you, but anonymously.

I like the US version best. It leaves more to my imagination, I think. And I love the colors. I think if they put the font of the UK version on the US version it would be perfect for me.

I remember that someone else asked me this question--we were debating about US v UK books a little while ago--and it stumped me for a moment. I do love the US cover and it especially works well with the Graceling cover. So, for purposes of matching, the US Fire cover hits the mark. However, if I were walking around a book store and just looking around, the UK cover would more likely grab my eye. :)
