BTT - The Best book You've Never Read

btt2.jpgWe’ve all seen the lists, we’ve all thought, “I should really read that someday,” but for all of us, there are still books on “The List” that we haven’t actually gotten around to reading. Even though we know they’re fabulous. Even though we know that we’ll like them. Or that we’ll learn from them. Or just that they’re supposed to be worthy. We just … haven’t gotten around to them yet.

What’s the best book that YOU haven’t read yet?

I have two

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

No idea why I have still failed to read this. Am I the only person in the world?

The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell

Which I do finally have on order from the library, whether I read it is another matter!

  1. Ah, To Kill a Mockingbird. I'm in the middle of it at the moment. Started it 4 months ago.... I LOVE it, but I stopped reading it because I started writing Monarch, and all my reading goes out the window when I start writing. Urgh! I'll finish it someday.

Apparently, according to a friend, The Book Thief is one of those books. And Bel Canto. I've heard that ones is right up my alley and amazing. Guess we'll see one day!

  5. I actually read To Kill A Mockingbird as assigned summer reading in 3rd grade.

As for books that I haven't read and think (or are told) are excellent - none. If I think a book is worth reading, I read it.

  7. Lady Glam - The Book Thief is amazing read it as soon as possible! Bel Canto is very good to.

Barbara H - I know I must make the effort.

Amy - glad it's not just me who has missed out a classic.

Captain H - I do too usually especially with fiction. Non-fiction I tend to put off.

  12. I've read To Kill a Mockingbird a couple times, and I could read it a few times more. It's an exceptional book that has the power to make you think and it stays with you for a very long time.

  15. The fact that you haven't read To Kill A Mockingbird is astonishing to me. But then, you didn't grow up in the US where the school systems MAKE YOU READ IT GOSH DARNIT.

But, in their defense, you really SHOULD read it. It's awesome. My sister's favorite book and one of my tops too.
